Dr. John O. Mason III is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been practicing for more than 20 years. He is Director of Retina Service at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology in Birmingham. His private practice can be found in Birmingham as well. Dr. Mason III is a consultant for companies and a published researcher. He is a recipient of the American Society of Retina Specialists Honor Award, and a member of numerous professional societies, including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Opthamology, and the American College of Surgeons, among many others.
Dr. Mason III serves on the Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital Credential Committee and the Clinical Research Committee at the University Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine in the Department of Ophthalmology. His research can be found published in the American Journal of Ophthalmology, Retina, Ophthalmology, and in many more publications.
A co-founder of Lunovus, Dr. Mason III has contributed to the development of numerous innovative products, like Blephadex’s unique mix of tea tree and coconut oils and the once-a-day Premier Formula for eye health, which predated the AREDS II formula but contains the same ingredients and benefits.
